PRODUCTION UPDATE: Pencils, Inks and Surveys!
4 days ago – Thu, Aug 13, 2026 at 06:24:27 AM

GHOSTBRAWLER Production is in full swing, folks!

It took me a couple weeks to recover from the campaign + SDCC (which I would not recommend doing back-to-back), but I’m back in the saddle, and penciling and inking has commenced. I’m doing about one page per day, so I’m aiming to be done with Issue #1 by the end of August. And at my current pace, I’ll realistically be on track to wrap Issue #2 plus the two bonus stories (about 16-18 extra pages) around late October (sick days and kids permitting).

Here’s a quick peek at the next page of the comic. I’ll be posting some process shots regularly over the next few months. And I’m due a visit to the print shop soon, so expect pics from that as well.

Fresh from the drawing desk!

Also: SURVEYS ARE COMING.

I’ve been busy prepping the first Surveys (via Backerkit), and those will begin going out over the next week. There you’ll be able to enter in your complete shipping info, plus add on any last-minute Add-Ons. Shipping will be paid after the book is completed, closer to fulfillment to ensure accurate pricing. Please keep an eye out for that email (check your Spam!), as it’ll be coming your way soon.

FINAL 48 HOURS, SDCC and Thanks!
27 days ago – Tue, Jul 21, 2026 at 02:12:58 PM

A little late posting this one, but... 60K STRETCH GOAL OBVIOUSLY UNLOCKED!

Which means the "MEET TONY CHOO" Bonus Story will be in all tiers of GHOSTBRAWLER!

I'm getting packed for a very busy SDCC right as we move into our Final 48 Hours. I'd describe my current state as "very, very excited and very, very nervous at the same time."

I did manage to make a run to my printer for a pickup, though:

Card Zeros (free to all physical tiers) are in and so are Art Of Rob Guillory Artbooks (still available as Add-ons right now)

And while we're talking SDCC, here's my current SDCC schedule:

-Thursday 7/23 IMAGE COMICS Panel at 11:30am
-Friday 7/24 IGNITION PRESS Panel at 12pm
-Friday 7/24 REKCAH Comics Panel at 7pm
-Saturday 7/25 IMAGE Signing w/ John Layman at 4pm
-Saturday 7/25 KICKSTARTER Panel at 5:30pm

I'll also be set up at the IGNITION PAVILION all week. Come say hey!

IGNITION PAVILION
200 Harbor Dr #120
San Diego, CA

OH, and one Last Thing: We're adding a little Thank You to all backers.

We're calling it the FIRST ROUNDERS CLUB. Every backer who pledges by the July 23 deadline (and whose payment clears, of course) will get their name printed in the back of every Bruiser Edition, where you will be immortalized FOREVAH.

That's it for now, folks!

This Update has THREE Pieces of Good News.
about 1 month ago – Wed, Jul 15, 2026 at 10:59:53 AM

So I made another trip to the printer yesterday, and he had many treasures.

It's getting real.

The first GHOSTBRAWLER trading card (which I'm lovingly calling CARD ZERO because it sounds cool) is REALLY COOL.

Now this card serves several purposes. First, it's the beta test for the entire 15-card set. But it's also an Outreach piece that I'll be handing out at San Diego Comic-Con next week. Just a taste of what we've been cooking in this campaign, with a QR Code that leads newbies straight to the Ghostbrawler page of RobGuillory.com, where they can immerse themselves in this series.

GOOD NEWS #1: ALL Backers of ANY Physical Tier get a Card Zero FREE. Just as a sincere Thank You for your support.

Which leads me to what else was waiting for me at the printer.

WHAT IS THAT, you ask?

Why, it's a new Art of Rob Guillory Artbook.

See, if I'm going back to SDCC, I gotta bring cool stuff.

40 pages. Squarebound. Nice cardstock cover and full color interiors. A great collection of covers, commissions and sketches.

It also has a 5-page GHOSTBRAWLER Preview in the back.

I also printed a special cover for SDCC, which features this never-before-seen image:

LET'S GO.

A special GHOSTBRAWLER/TONY CHOO Jam piece. Just a little something to celebrate a successful campaign as we enter its final week. Which brings us to more good news.

THE PRINT MAN BRINGETH GOOD NEWS.

GOOD NEWS #2: 100 copies of the SDCC Artbook are available NOW as an Add-on.

SDCC Artbook Available NOW as Add-On!

GOOD NEWS #3: We also made the jam piece available as a Print Add-On, too.

Now Available as a Print Add-On!

That's it for now, folks. Back to the drawing board for me. Have a good one!

Let's Talk Trading Cards. And A NEW Add-On!
about 1 month ago – Mon, Jul 13, 2026 at 12:46:57 PM

So I wanna talk Trading Cards.

Trading Card Concept Art.

Fun Fact: Back when I started collecting comics in the early 90's, I also started collecting Trading Cards. Back then, Marvel had a bangin' card series, and 9-year-old Rob bought the entire 1991/1992 sets one card at a time at my local shop. Still got it in storage, too!

So offering our own trading cards for the GHOSTBRAWLER campaign was OBVIOUS WISH FULFILLMENT. And our set was largely inspired by those early sets. Shoutout to designer Burt Durand, who did a fantastic job working up this stylistic homage.

Below is a peek at one of the cards we're toying with, along with Layman's great copy text on the rear.

CARD FRONT.
And Back. The LUCK stat gets me every time.

This particular card will likely be a Bonus outreach card we hand out at SDCC next week, but chances are we'll be throwing it in for You Lovely Backers.

Another Fun Fact: This set won't just feature GHOSTBRAWLER characters. Expect some fun surprise cameos from CHEW, FARMHAND and maaaaybe more.

I'm working on Trading Card art this week, so expect peeks at those soon. Original Art for a few is still available, and the entire 15-Card Set is still available as an Add-On. These will come packaged in a really nice branded card box.

OH, and a new addition to the ADD-ONS:

SPAWN KILLS #2 Variant by Rob!

Speaking of TOTAL WISH FULFILLMENT, I got to draw a cover featuring SPAWN and POYO last year. And I'm offering a limited amount of copies as Add-Ons. WOOP!

And while I'm talking Add-Ons, here's a quick roll-call of what's still available.

CHEW Coloring Book. An old fave!
The O.G. CHEW Hardcover, collecting Issues 1-10.
CHEW TPB 1. Collecting issues 1-5.
FARMHAND TPBs 1-5: Collecting the ENTIRE series.
MOSELY TPB: Collecting the entire 5 issue series.
Snazzy Full-color GHOSTBRAWLER print!
THE BEST FIGHT NIGHT Print Ever, featuring POYO!
Signed Tip-In Sheets, adding a personal touch to every book!
WALKING DEAD #1 Variant with a cover by yours truly!

See you guys later this week, as we move into the campaign's final week. In the meantime, back to work for me!

(Holy Crap... has it been a month already?!?)

The Making of the GOAT Edition.
about 1 month ago – Sat, Jul 11, 2026 at 09:07:00 AM

Hey folks!

As the campaign moves into its homestretch, I want to spend some time highlighting some of my favorite items.

Today I wanna show some love to the GOAT Edition.

I’m a big fan of limited-run books. Even as a pro, I still make time at comic cons to hunt down the latest small-run sketchbook from my favorite creators.

Why? Because I think buying these little treasures directly from the artist is super-cool, that’s why.

And as a guy who’s worked in print shops, and who spent my early indie years printing and hand-stapling my first books, I still love getting my hands on the actual books I’m selling. I love making each book a little artifact, a little one-of-a-kind thing.

So that’s where the GOAT Edition comes from. We’re only printing 100 of those bad boys.

Printed in my hometown in South Louisiana, about 20 minutes from my house, the GOAT Edition is an absolute labor of love. And the beauty of printing it so close to home is that it allows for experimentation. I get my hands all over the process, and I think it makes for a really special book.

The printer (Andre Andrepont of Andrepont Printing) prints to my specs. He’s a giant paper geek as well, so we tend to spitball ideas for weeks before settling on the best options. I pop in to proof and pay-test the proof. We chat about what worked and what didn’t. We adjust. And in the end, we have something dynamite.

I actually popped in for the first GHOSTBRAWLER play-test meeting a couple weeks ago to go over the first GOAT Edition cover test. And was really pleased with the results.

GOAT Edition Print Test #1. SO SNAZZY.

The lines came out sharp and the color is BANGING. And the blue of the inside cover is GLOWING under the blue outer cover. And the gold ink SINGS.

There’s more experimenting to be done in the next couple months while I draw interiors. We’ll narrow down exactly the right textured cover stock. We’ll tweak the die-cut. And we’ll experiment with the embossed areas. Like I said, we’re geeks about this stuff. But for now, we’re on the right track. I’ll be posting more GOAT process updates as they unfold!

And FYI: We still have a small amount of the GOAT editions left, so if you missed them, there’s still time. All GOATs also come with a Sketch Remarque and FEATHERWEIGHT softcover, perfect for hardcore collectors who don’t want to muss up their fanciest edition.

And here’s a few peeks at the art and process stuff. Please note that the GHOSTBRAWLER logo placement is not final on these. Like I said, there’s some experimentation involved here.
